# Delete Media

> Delete an asset and everything derived from it with client.DeleteMedia().

```

| `id` | `string` | **Required.** UUID of the asset |

## Returns

`nil` on success, an error otherwise.

## What gets removed

The original leaves storage along with every cached transform derived from it, and the
space is credited back against your plan's storage quota.

  Deletion is immediate and permanent. Any URL already handed out — including unexpired
  [signed URLs](/go-sdk/media/signed-url) — stops resolving.

## Errors

| Check | Cause |
| :- | :- |
| `dreep.IsNotFound(err)` | No asset with that id in this project |

A `DELETE` can be retried on `429` or `5xx`. If you see `IsNotFound` after a retry, the
first attempt most likely succeeded.
