# Usage

> Storage consumed and object counts with client.GetUsage().

usage, err := client.GetUsage(ctx)
```

## Signature

```go theme={null}
func (c *Client) GetUsage(ctx context.Context) (*dreep.Usage, error)
```

Takes no arguments beyond the context.

## Returns

```go theme={null}
type Usage struct {
    StorageBytes flexInt64 // read with .Int64()
    ImageCount   int
    FileCount    int
    FolderCount  int
}
```

The API sends `storageBytes` as a string, since the underlying column is a `BIGINT`. The
SDK decodes either form.

## Reporting

```go theme={null}
usage, err := client.GetUsage(ctx)
if err != nil {
    return err
}

gb := float64(usage.StorageBytes.Int64()) / (1 << 30)
fmt.Printf("%.2f GB across %d assets\n", gb, usage.ImageCount+usage.FileCount)
```

the error carries the ceiling and current consumption at the moment a request was rejected.
